I have a
meeting with the CEO of Manfeild on Thursday 3 July.Apart from the floor, which I know is a sore
point, is there anything else you’d like me to raise?
Morning Owen. Congrats on your appointment, and this Blog! I think Manfeild is a brilliant option for winter shows. From my limited experience with using Manfeild I wonder if clubs and exhibitors could have some clearer communication about some of the details - Cost for campers (there seems to be some changes since the initial shows, cost of having showers open and how clubs can manage their budget by ensuring that they only have what they need, access to the venue outside office hours and who is responsible for night time lock ups and security, responsibility for unlocking and locking power access, is there any additional costs for having the building open at night and is there planning for a dump station in a place that is used by numbers of campers, especially for longer events like Nationals. (Ardmore used a temp system for Nats but this was not permitted at Manfeild.) Thanks!
Welcome to my Blog! I hope this will be useful and effective in keeping us in touch with each other and ensuring that you can ask about anything you want to know, and learn what's going on as quickly as possible. As far as I'm concerned there are only two rules. · Let’s keep it polite · No anonymous posts please · And maybe one request; try to keep it short Don’t forget that I’m only one person on The Team though; keep in touch with your executive councillors and let them know what you’re thinking too. Often, I may deal with your posts by sending them to one of The Team for attention, or to the office. We’re all here to make the best job we can of running the organisation and helping you.
The 2025 Executive Council held its first full meeting at the Auckland Exhibition Centre on the 26 th and 27 th of July. Full details will be published in the minutes in due course, and I don’t want to pre-empt them, but I like to release as much information as I properly can in this blog as soon as possible. Below are some items about what was discussed and decided.
Question from Sarah Sowman: Thank you for the information provided with regard to options and requirements for our replacement lower north island venue. Greatly appreciated. For clarity, please can you advise ... Is the information around the working group terms of reference etc (as described on page 6 of the July edition of NZ Dog World ) printed to explain the previous arrangements that were in place - or is a new working group to be established? Otherwise is there to be no working group, and do individual members / clubs investigate possible venue scenarios? A: The Terms of Reference that were published were the original ones, intended to show readers the thoroughness of the instructions that were given to the Working Group, and for the information of anyone who wanted to make any new suggestions. The Working Group was disestablished by the outgoing Executive Council, at my request, and if any new suggestions are received that meet the ...
