Governance Review Steering Committees

I spent the morning of the day after ACOD with these committees, observing their planning meeting.  Names of the members will be in the forthcoming article that you will see in the July Dog World.

They have already done an impressive amount of work, with more to come.   They are committed to communication and consultation with you, and you will begin to see updates and surveys from them soon, in all our internal media.  Please look out for these contacts, and respond to them.

THE STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBERS WILL NOT GO ON TO BE THE MEMBERS OF THE FINAL COMMITTEES.

Nominations will be called in the New Year, and elections will be held in or about March.

Many aspects of the new constitution have yet to be decided and your input will be important in deciding these, so please respond to the requests for input that the steering will put out.   If you have a question you would like to raise already, the steering committees are happy to answer.

Welcome to my Blog! I hope this will be useful and effective in keeping us in touch with each other and ensuring that you can ask about anything you want to know, and learn what's going on as quickly as possible. As far as I'm concerned there are only two rules. ·        Let’s keep it polite ·         No anonymous posts please ·         And maybe one request; try to keep it short Don’t forget that I’m only one person on The Team though; keep in touch with your executive councillors and let them know what you’re thinking too.  Often, I may deal with your posts by sending them to one of The Team for attention, or to the office.  We’re all here to make the best job we can of running the organisation and helping you.
The 2025 Executive Council held its first full meeting at the Auckland Exhibition Centre on the 26 th and 27 th of July.    Full details will be published in the minutes in due course, and I don’t want to pre-empt them, but I like to release as much information as I properly can in this blog as soon as possible.   Below are some items about what was discussed and decided.
Question from Sarah Sowman: Thank you for the information provided with regard to options and requirements for our replacement lower north island venue. Greatly appreciated.   For clarity, please can you advise ...  Is the information around the working group terms of reference etc (as described on page 6 of the July edition of NZ Dog World ) printed to explain the previous arrangements that were in place - or is a new working group to be established?   Otherwise is there to be no working group, and do individual members / clubs investigate possible venue scenarios?   A: The Terms of Reference that were published were the original ones, intended to show readers the thoroughness of the instructions that were given to the Working Group, and for the information of anyone who wanted to make any new suggestions. The Working Group was disestablished by the outgoing Executive Council, at my request, and if any new suggestions are received that meet the ...
